All music on the BOGALUSA
Label in America and worldwide will be released in
connection with a new Foundation called MUSIC AGAINST
RACISM. This Foundation will be strongly involved with
Human Rights and Social Responsibilities. A defined monetary
amount per sold unit will go the Foundation fund. All
releases will bear the note: “BOGALUSA
Records supports Music Against Racism, a foundation dedicated
to identifying racism wherever it exists. A portion from
this sale helps to fund the foundation”
The Foundation is in the process of being established
and was initiated by Jim Bateman (manager / publisher
of Gatemouth Brown and Chris Thomas King) , the well-known
lawyer Earl G. Perry jr. and Ingo Kleinhammer. The Foundation
is based in New Orleans. |

The responsibilities are varied but concentrate
mainly on the support of minorities in the social area of children
and teenagers and of mainly colored inmates in American prisons.
These prisoners have no lobby and their dubious Human Rights
treatment in jail is more than often applied with disregard
of laws and rules. Ingo Kleinhammer has been active in this
area for around 6 years and he has actually been to prisons
such as Attica, Rikers Island, Southport, Great Meadows, Coxsackie
amongst others. The success of the Label
will greatly contribute to even more activity in this area.
It is intended to find other Labels who are also willing to
participate. If successful, it is foreseen that the foundation
be also established in further countries. |
